Memorial Day, originally called Decoration Day, is a day of remembrance for those who have died in our nation’s service. There are many stories as to its actual beginnings, with over two dozen cities and towns laying claim to being the birthplace of Memorial Day. There is also evidence that organized women’s groups in the South were decorating graves before the end of the Civil War: a hymn published in 1867, “Kneel Where Our Loves are Sleeping” by Nella L. Sweet carried the dedication “To The Ladies of the South who are Decorating the Graves of the Confederate Dead” (Source: Duke University’s Historic American Sheet Music, 1850-1920). While Waterloo N.Y. was officially declared the birthplace of Memorial Day by President Lyndon Johnson in May 1966, it’s difficult to prove conclusively the origins of the day. It is more likely that it had many separate beginnings; each of those towns and every planned or spontaneous gathering of people to honor the war dead in the 1860’s tapped into the general human need to honor our dead, each contributed honorably to the growing movement that culminated in Gen Logan giving his official proclamation in 1868. It is not important who was the very first, what is important is that Memorial Day was established. Memorial Day is not about division. It is about reconciliation; it is about coming together to  HONOR THOSE WHO GAVE THEIR ALL .

quelle tragedie

Joi dimineta la *Museul de Arta Moderna* din Paris s-a descoperit geamul spart la parter . Lipsesc cinci piese de valoare  imensa , bine alese de hot , desprinse cu grije din rame  . Primarul plange inestimabila pierdere, golul lasat umanitatii , ameninta pedepsirea exemplara a  faptasului   , dar trece tangent   faptul ca din martie sistemul de securitate e defect , asteptand piese de schimb ,  paznicul probabil motaia …in loc sa felicite hotul care a operat singur , ( vazut in cam) are gust artistic elevat ,  indiferent care i-a fost motivarea ,  nu-i orice sa furi cateva  masterpiece uri . Oricine poate fura o masina ,un tren, un milion dar pentru asa lovitura trebuie sa ai * cojones* , sange rece , sa fii un lup singuratic ,  or sa-ti placa imens de Peter O’Toole si Audrey Hepburn  in* Cum sa  furi un million* or Cary Grand si Grace Kelly in *  Sa prinzi un hot * a lui Hitchcock .

Cred ca hotul e un indragostit de Hollywood caci avem toate  datele unui nou film : *  cum pierde Fr $600 millioane ‘ntr-o noapte*

locatie : Paris . Nu un orasel oare-care . Museele parisiene au experienta  cu hotii de  arta  . Va amintiti cand un  salariat de la Louvre a plecat cu MonaLisa in 1911 si a tinut-o sechestrata  doi ani in  apartament???

documentatie: hotul a studiat bine museul ; orice neavenit recunoaste un Picasso, dar sa alegi o piesa terminata in 1911 *pigeon with peas* care  langa * nude,green leaves and bust*, ( vanduta la licitatie in NY luna trecuta pentru $106.5 million) sunt  printre cele mai valoroase .

Desigur , hotul de arta e un imoral,  care priveaza lumea de aceste minuni , dar nestiind ce l-a determinat s-o faca , la asa scala, in asa maniera, pana  aflam …*chapeaus off to you , monsieur * 🙂
